Shipmates:
This site has been up since August, 2006. To date, there has been zero input from you old salts that sailed the Ernest G. Small during the early years, 1946-1950. I know you're out there and some of you have been browsing the website and forums. I am sure you have memories, anecdotes and sea stories that would be of interest to your fellow Roadrunners. The clock is ticking, guys; and just like our money we cannot take our history with us when we pass. So how about passing along some of your proud history of your days on the Small. One paragraph or several pages. All you have to do is send it to my attention: webmaster@ussernestgsmall.org My thanks! Dennis Vinson (ST1, 1962-1966)

Dennis:
I reported aboard the Small in December of 1949 and have a copy of the Deck Log for the Med Cruise that took place in the first half of 1950. If anyone has any inquiries regarding any event or Ports of Call during that time I would be happy to do some searching. Don Wayman RD2/c |
