Default Comming 'attractions'

For those of you who could not attend the 2006 Portland, Oregon reunion what was learned there of the Fu Yang DD-7/DDG-907 has now been written into a three part story and submitted to the Small Talk for publication. I hope you all will enjoy learning about what happened to our Destroyer after she left the service of the USN. In addition, we received several photographs of her before and after her conversion to a DDG. FYI, the old girl really got a 'face lift' and looked pretty good---good enough to later win the 1994 award for being the best warship in the 124 ship fleet of Taiwan!

We've also learned that located in Kaoshiung, Taiwan Republic of China (ROC) is their Naval Acadamy and Naval Museum. In that museum is a special spot where the Fu Yang is remembered. This has photographs, written information and several items from the ship that were saved after she was decomissioned (you'll see those things in the photographs to be published later in the Small Talk). Through Mrs. Fei Chen we were able to contact Mr. Shen Tien-Yu (the Director of that museum). Mr. Shen is the person who supplied all the information and photographs for us. I've sent him our 'Thank You' letter, copies of documents I have and a few other things for use by that museum. Until later---WETSU Shipmates, Bert Royster
